Lenovo S820 Reviews - After we finished reviewing the Lenovo S920, now our arrival headset Lenovo S820 which is one level below the S920. The fall in the level means that there is some specs revealed, but not to the camera, where the S820 has a higher resolution camera is 12MP. Please read the review below.

Design 

Lenovo S920 we have said is similar to the design of the HTC One X, and even more similar to S820 again as it has a protective glass screen slightly causing any out. This phone has dimensions of 139.5 x 69.7 x 9 mm and weighs 143 grams, is clearly more comfortable grip and portability than S920. The entire body is made of Polycarbonate plastic glossy and white to color as our test unit has metallic accents.

The face filled with earpiece, proximity and light sensor, front camera, 4.7-inch screen, three capacitive buttons Android function without backlight, LED notification shaped line and mic. The back is filled with the main camera, LED flash, and a speaker at the bottom. For the two SIM card slot and microSD memory card slot is located behind the back cover.

The left side of the phone is loaded with the volume buttons, while the right side of the plain. The upper part is filled with a 3.5mm headset port and the lock / power are less prominent presence. The lower part is filled with the microUSB port.

Just like the S920, S820 uses IPS screen resolution HD 720p (720 x 1280 pixels), but because it is mounted on a 4.7-inch screen size of the display S820 then look smoother and sharper (320 ppi). The screen quality is also good, colors appear bright and lively, wide viewing angle of vision also unfortunately despite using a curved glass coating made in Corning, but Lenovo does not put the screen as close as possible so it still feels the presence of the gap.

Interface

The interface  Lenovo S820 Launcher v2.0 which runs on Android 4.2. Of course with the Lenovo Launcher you will be given a lot of detailed customization options (themes, transition effects, decorations icons, and others) even until there is an auto cleaner to relieve RAM. There are also other features such as Pocket Mode, Tone Decrease,, Smart Answers, Smart Roll, and Wide Touch. Where the last two features are not owned S920.

Only perform simple lockscreen page there any place to add widgets and shortcuts to the camera, while the slider just to open a screen with no shortcuts to specific applications.

Defaults are just standard Android keyboard to accommodate the needs of typing. Nothing to complain because this standard keyboard can meet standard requirements in typing.

Camera

One of the advantages of this phone is located in the main camera has a 13MP resolution (4096x3072 pixels) autofocus camera equipped with LED flash and front 2MP fixed focus camera. Unlike the S920, S820 camera applications using Super Camera application as used K900.

The results of this camera looks good, but not impressive. For the results look great room with natural color, and quite sharp and minimal noise. You can also take advantage of the LED flash for low light room conditions. For outdoor although quite natural color but we see less able to accommodate the camera focus and level of detail appropriate for distant objects so it looks a little blurry. Likewise for the macro picture looks less focused.

The rear camera records video up to 1080p FullHD resolution. The interface integrates with camera video recording you just need to move the slider mode. After the switch to video recording mode it will be given a few features such as the EIS stabilizer, LED flash, and more. When you are recording at the same time you can also take pictures.

Other

Gallery or here using an application called Super Gallery presents the pictures and video content with the arrangement based on the time they were taken in the default which can be changed also by folder, horizontally and vertically. At first glance it looks similar to the gallery is similar in Windows Phone.

Unfortunately S820 only provide Google the default music player application is not made by Lenovo itself. Music collections can be displayed based on the playlists, recent, artists, albums, songs, genres. Do not miss the feature equalizer to adjust the sound output according to preference. Via headset powered audible sound output, to via speakers though sounded fairly strong but if it is set to the maximum position will sound a little broken and painful to hear.

In addition to the Super Gallery video content can also be played in a dedicated application. Connectivity

Lenovo S820 runs on networks triband GSM 900/1800/1900 and dualband HSDPA 900 / 2100. For local connectivity there is WiFi 802. 11 a / b / g / n dual-band, Bluetooth v3.0, A-GPS, microUSB v2. 0, and microSD support up to 32GB.

Battery Life

Lenovo S820 uses a Lithium Ion battery 2000 mAh size that is claimed to last stand by time up to 140 hours and talk time up to 10 hours on 3G networks. We conducted an experiment to play mkv video for 1 hour in a state of cellular and WiFi networks active and auto brightness level, the position of the battery of 100% was reduced to 91%, which could mean if it continues to play a video phone can last 9 hours. Conclusion

Compared with S920, if we were to choose, we would prefer S820. Why is that? Due to the more compact design and the same screen resolution which affected the sharper screen, as well as in terms of software and features that are more complete, do not miss the cheaper price difference. One sticking point in this phone is the absence of a backlight for Android capacitive buttons function. Indeed, Lenovo provides buttons with chrome luster, but what if you were in the room in total darkness, of course difficult is not it? Because the capacitive buttons do not have a texture that can be touched and known position. Although one of the features you'll enjoy, but owned S820 12MP camera does not have a special performance, only to win in big resolution and premium features.
