Displacing Android, Apple Dominate Smartphone Sales in US - Apple buzz by marketing the new iPhone has a large sail sweet fruit. After helping posted record earnings, the new iPhone has made Apple become the ruler of the smartphone market share in the United States for the first time in the last 3 years, displacing Android in second position.
According to new research Kantar Worldpanel Comtech, Apple was able to master the US smartphone share of 47.7%, only 0.1% on top of Android that is in the second position. This achievement is the first time since 2012 last year.
Kantar also noted that the position of Windows Phone is still in third place, but its share fell 0.4 percent compared to the previous. Windows Phone recorded also still need a lot of fighting in various European countries such as Germany, Britain, France, Italy, and Spain. In Europe, the average share of Windows Phone is 9%, down 1% compared to the previous period.
Although declining, the condition of Windows Phone is still better than the BlackBerry. Kantar in this report does not include longer share a BlackBerry in his research, made possible because of the decreasing market share.
Android itself recorded a downward trend not only in the United States. Android Market in Europe as a whole fell 3.8% as a result of aggression Apple, however, the share of Android in Europe is still large, namely 66%, well above the share of Apple and Windows Phone.
